Lines of Desire: R&D
OHP film - Cyanotype coverage
Double cyanotype layer
Photo touched up with black liner pen to ascentuate outlines
Exposure
Sky treatment
double coverage on edges away from the moon
spray water beneath stone moon
sprinkle salt to create the galaxy effect
Track Treatment
Several options were considered.
1.The track could be cyanotped from an OHP film of an old map of the valley.
2.The tracks could be transposed using graphic and drawn onto the landscape and then gutta masked using fine liner.
3. The tracks could be hand painted using cyanotype ;prussian blue' paint which is a byproduct of the print process. This might allow more variety in each image. The underlay could be cyanotpe print sprayed with water so that the dark prussian blue tracks might be more clearly contrasted.
Foreground treatment
Foreground treatment - Wet cyanotype
The deeper blue edges could be double coated
Acids could be used to play with different tones of blue, green and purple as the liquid reacts with the cyanotype and fresh foliage. This might take some experimentation but there is a level of undertainty which is intended to add to the 'nature' chaoes/uncertainty element of the image.
The use of unity game engine is being considered at the moment in relation to asset creation and blending of immersive-interactive cyanotype media.
This may be the next step along the path in extending the process. It may be useful in the next project which is entitled ' So.. she said',
