lines of desire : initial Negatives

Concept developmemt:

Lines of desire: concepts

1) tracks created by footfall rather than by design. These are tracks created by people through a space because the designed tracks don't work for them

2) Heels worn as felt desirable rather than being practical for running away from predators.

3) Women wearing what they find attractive without fear for their own personal safety. Not having to consider their footwear for fear they will need to run for their lives.

4) freedom to roam wherever they want to without restriction. Wandering freely into areas not designed for them, but by men to benefit men. Entering male-centered territory just because they want to. Gaining access. No exits/entrances blocked.

5) Adorning themselves for their own pleasure rather than to elicit the male gaze (and potential comodification). Feeling beautiful in soft fabrics. Loving their own bodies. Feeling safe.

6. Consumption of women for labour/status as commodities.
7. Coercive control as a process of taking control of women (psychological control)
