Halo

In the work "time" I was interested how i might depict human 'liveliness', aura and spirit. reference was made to bizantine religious imagery, of which I have always been very curious about. Mary, Jesus and numerous saints and deities are depicted as having radiant light around the head or torso, various forms of halo. This work was of value at that time as I was also exploring how spatial perspective was illustrated in early illustration.

'Time' could be best described as a light art work that did not fully reach expression. The exploration into three dimensional kinetic projection screens was a way in which light could be handled, not only in projection of moving image onto static surface, but also onto moving surface and thought surface as this allowed for greater manipulation of light. The early experiments are illustrated in the project entitled 'Interconnection'. This work experimented with the heart as the centre for the soul (eastern philosophy) and this project also did not reach its full expression but was an incremental step in the realisation of 'Time'.

'Interconnection', 'one' and 'time', were the iterative steps towards the construction of an entire human body kinetic three dimensional projection screen. I think that this could be realised as part of this research project in illustrating aspects of the methodology and also forming part of the subject matter for the research project, interrelating methodology with research topic illustrating the iterative methods deployed in the creative process of practice experimentation and relating this to the practice-theory oscillatory double feedback loop.
